All members receive 15% off of events organized by the Club and 50% off of Training Dues (Section 4). Associate Membership: Open to individuals 18 years of age and older who support the purpose of the Club but do not wish to participate in governance. Associate members do not have voting rights and are not eligible to hold office. This category is ideal for those who want to assist with events or activities without full membership responsibilities. Household Membership: Open to two individuals 18 years of age and older who reside in the same household and subscribe to the purpose of the Club. Each individual is in good standing with affiliates of the Club. Household members have individual voting rights and may hold office. Junior Membership: Open to individuals under 18 years of age who are interested in dog training and sports. Junior members do not have voting rights and are not eligible to hold office. Regular Membership: Open to individuals 18 years of age and older who subscribe to the purposes of the Club. Individual is in good standing with affiliates of the Club. Regular members have voting rights and may hold office. Section 2: Membership Eligibility Membership is open to individuals who support the mission and goals of the Club; and agree to abide by its bylaws and policies. All members are required to attend a minimum of three monthly Club meetings and are in good standing with affiliated dog sport organizations including but not limited to: American Kennel Club Barn Hunt Association National Association of Canine Scent Work North American Diving Dogs North American Sport Dog Association Section 3: Membership Dues Membership dues directly support the Club’s charitable goals. Dues are determined by the Board of Directors and are payable on or before the first day of January each year. Dues are required for members to have voting privileges and to uphold leadership positions. Associate Membership = $10 + 10 event volunteer hours Household Membership = $40 Junior Membership = 15 event volunteer hours Regular Membership = $30 Section 4: Training Dues Training dues directly support the Club’s equipment expenses and covers facility expenses that are required to host training meetups. Dues are determined by the Board of Directors and are payable upon request. An active membership is required for individuals to be eligible for training meetups but the dues do not provide individuals with voting privileges or the ability to hold a leadership position. Non-Member Training Dues = $30 Club Member Training Dues = $15 Section 5: Election of Membership Each applicant for membership shall apply on a form as approved by the Board of Directors which shall provide that the applicant agrees to abide by the bylaws of the Club. Each membership application is approved when the individual fulfills the following requirements: In good standing with all affiliated organizations Attended three monthly Club meetings Paid annual membership dues Application approval is conditioned until the required volunteer hours are met for Associate and Junior memberships. Applicants have a maximum of 6 months from the date of application to complete the required volunteer hours before receiving formal approval. Section 6: Termination of Membership Membership may be terminated: Resignation: Any member may resign from the club upon written notice to the Secretary, but no member may resign when in debt to the club. Dues obligations are considered a debt to the club and are incurred on the first day of each fiscal year. Lapsing: A membership will be considered as lapsed and automatically terminated if such member’s dues remain unpaid 30 days after the first day of the fiscal year. However, the Board may grant an additional 30 days of grace to such delinquent members in meritorious cases. In no case may a person be entitled to vote at any club meeting whose dues are unpaid as of the date of that meeting.
