How does the board and train program work?
Each dog stays at the dog trainer’s home for an extended period of time. The duration of the program is a minimum of 2 weeks but the total amount of time is dependent on the severity of the case. Individualized training, exercise, and enrichment time is provided daily while being inside of a home environment. The dog trainer has personal dogs; therefore all dogs enrolled in the behavior modification board and train program will be on a crate and rotate schedule.
It is the dog owner’s responsibility for drop-off and pick-up at the dog trainer’s home. However, visitation time is scheduled in public environments to provide socialization time in addition to a small in-person lesson on the dog’s current progress in the training program.
It is easier for pet parents to continue with their dog's behavior modification training once the foundation skills are taught by a professional dog trainer.
What will my dog experience during training?
Only progressive dog training methods are used to train dogs in the program. All dogs participate in games to learn how to offer desirable behaviors and gain access to rewards they find enjoyable such as food and toys. The dog trainer does not use intimidation, fear, pain, or aversive training tools – guaranteed!
Every dog experiences fun adventures, activities, and enrichment opportunities that are beneficial to their mental, physical, and biological needs. Ultimately, these components unlock the door to achieve better behavior and each day of the program is designed to provide the benefits listed below:
